WELCOME TO BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES

If you are interested in Biological Sciences and want hands-on learning and research opportunities, then FUW is the place for you! The Department of Biological Sciences is established under the Faculty of pure and applied sciences. Our Department serves as the focal point for multidisciplinary bioscience research in the faculty of pure and applied sciences.

The department offers service courses to the Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences and other departments of the Faculty of pure and applied Sciences.

The B.Sc. Biology degree programme of the department received full accreditation in the 2018 Accreditation Exercise. 

Our Department is a beehive of scientific activities; this is evident with an exceptional group of scientists who have shown dedication and innovative teaching methods in training our students. This group of scientists have a wealth of experience in research and mentoring and have risen to the top in their various fields.

As an admitted student of this great Department of Biological Sciences, Federal University Wukari, you will work with qualified and dedicated faculty members who have expertise in different areas of biological sciences; endeavour to explore your field of study through a variety of undergraduate experiential learning and research opportunities.

Our programmes of study are flexible and prepare students to pursue careers in areas such as: biotechnology, botany, cellular biology, cytogenetics, entomology, environmental biology, hydrobiology, parasitology, public health, physiology and zoology. We also make sure our students receive both a qualitative and quantitative background that will enable them in tackling problems and provide the foundation for lifelong achievements.
