Brief History:

Engr. Dr. Adinife Patrick Azodo is a Senior Lecturer and Acting Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Federal University Wukari, Taraba State, Nigeria. Born on July 9, 1982, in Adazi-Nnukwu, Anambra State, Dr. Azodo hails from Idemili North Local Government Area. He obtained his B.Eng. (Second Class Upper) in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Minna, and both his M.Eng. and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB).

Dr. Azodo’s research and teaching emphasize Industrial and Production Engineering, with expertise in Computer-Aided Design and Manufacturing (CAD/CAM), Ergonomics, and Energy Systems. He teaches Thermodynamics, Engineering Drawing, Strength of Materials, and Engineering Management courses. As a registered COREN engineer and an active member of NIMechE, NIM, and IAENG, he is also a prolific researcher and reviewer for international journals, with over sixty scholarly publications.

His work integrates human-centered engineering design, sustainability, and industrial efficiency, focusing on noise control, environmental safety, and renewable energy systems. Known for his dedication to academic excellence and community development, Dr. Azodo combines technical expertise with leadership in promoting innovation, ergonomics, and safe engineering practices for industrial and educational advancement in Nigeria.

History of the Department of Computer Science

The Department of Computer Science at Federal University Wukari was established to provide quality education, research, and innovation in the rapidly evolving field of information and communication technology. From its inception, the Department has focused on equipping students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary to address real-world computing challenges.

Initially offering undergraduate programs in Computer Science, the Department has steadily grown in scope and capacity, expanding its curriculum to reflect global trends in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Software Engineering, and emerging technologies. Over the years, it has built a reputation for excellence through dedicated staff, innovative teaching methods, and a commitment to research that addresses local and international needs.

Today, the Department continues to play a vital role in producing skilled graduates who contribute to academia, industry, and national development, while fostering an environment of creativity, problem-solving, and technological advancement.

Admission Requirements

  1. Five O’level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology at SSCE, NECO, GCE or equivalent at not more than two sittings.

D.E

  1. UTME qualifications plus (i) or (ii).
    1. At least two A‟ level passes in Mathematics, and any of Physics and Chemistry.
    2. ND in Computer Science.
