Procurement

Student Affairs
Dedicated to student welfare, this directorate manages orientation programmes, student leadership, counselling, sports, and extracurricular activities. It is the primary link between the University administration and the student body.
Central Laboratory
The Centre Lab provides advanced research facilities and technical support for science-based programmes. It supports academic projects, innovation, and collaborations with industries and research institutions.
Academic Planning
Responsible for curriculum development, programme accreditation, and academic quality assurance. The unit ensures that all courses meet national and international standards.
Physical Planning
Oversees campus development, architectural designs, and infrastructure expansion. The unit ensures that new projects meet safety, environmental, and sustainability standards.
Works & Maintenance
Handles repairs, maintenance, and upkeep of University facilities, including buildings, utilities, and landscaping. It plays a key role in creating a conducive learning and working environment.
Consultancy Services
Provides expert consultancy, training, and applied research services to government agencies, industries, and other institutions. It also serves as a revenue-generating arm for the University.

Prof Asaju La'aro Bolaji
Prof Asaju is a seasoned ICT strategist with over 15 years of experience in digital infrastructure development, cybersecurity, and academic technology integration. Under his leadership, the ICT Unit has expanded internet coverage, upgraded learning management systems, and enhanced data security across the University.

Director of Procurement
Mal. Rabiu Ismail Agwaru
Rabiu Isma’il Agwaru was born on October 1, 1969, in Jalingo, Taraba State, and hails from Karim Lamido Local Government Area. He began his education at Central Primary School, Jalingo (1976–1982) and later attended Government Teachers College, Jalingo (1982–1987), where he obtained the Grade II Teachers Certificate. He holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE, 2007) and a Master of Science (M.Sc) in Business Administration (2015). He is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Business Administration at the American University of Nigeria, Yola, focusing on Sustainable Procurement.
Mr. Agwaru began his career at the Federal Medical Centre, Jalingo, in 2001 as a Finance Officer II and rose to Senior Finance Officer before transferring to the Federal University Wukari in 2011 as a Principal Assistant Registrar. Over the years, he has served in various administrative capacities, including Head of Establishment Division, Faculty Officer, and Secretary to numerous committees. In 2016, he was redeployed to head the Procurement Department, where—after certification and conversion by the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP)—he rose through the ranks to become the Director of Procurement in 2023.
With over 25 years of service in the federal civil service, Mr. Agwaru has attended numerous professional courses in finance, audit, registry administration, and procurement. He is married and blessed with children.
