Department of Food Science and Technology

The need for education and active research in Post-harvest handling and processing of foods prompted the establishment of the Department of Food Science and Technology in 2011 as one of the foundation programmes of the Federal University Wukari, Wukari, Taraba State. The Department of Food Science and Technology is one of the eight Departments in the Faculty of Agriculture and Life Sciences. The Department presently offers courses leading to the award of Bachelor of Science, Postgraduate Diploma, Master's and Doctoral Degrees in Food Science and Technology. The Department has four laboratories namely: Food Chemistry Laboratory, Food Microbiology Laboratory, Food Processing Laboratory and Sensory Evaluation Laboratory which are used for teaching and research.
