Head of Department

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Department of Agricultural Engineering, Federal University Wukari. The Department is one of the pioneer Academic Departments of the Faculty of Engineering in this University. The Department runs degree programme leading to the award of the Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng) in Agricultural Engineering. It is encouraging and worthy of note that the Department is endowed with highly trained staff who teach with professional touch and guide students to the height of competency in Agricultural Engineering. The courses and practical are designed to ensure that students are well trained and made creators of wealth in the society through agro-industrial entrepreneurship.

Our philosophy is to produce engineering graduates with state-of-the-art knowledge of both the theoretical and practical aspects of Agricultural Engineering, with the view to graduating competent engineering professionals that are self-reliant, innovative and problem solvers.

The B.Eng program in Agricultural Engineering at Federal University Wukari aims at imparting quality education to agricultural engineering graduates so as to contribute to the society through modern technologies and practices in line with sustainable development goals.

Our Programme Educational Objectives are formulated in-line with the vision and mission of Federal University Wukari and those of the Faculty of Engineering to prepare graduates that after graduation would be able to: Demonstrate sound engineering knowledge and skills (competence) to add value to solving agricultural engineering problems in areas of the profession; show capacity to practically apply ICT skills in agricultural engineering and environmental engineering practices; manage the natural resources and people for  high level of production in sustainable agricultural development without damage to the environment; be entrepreneurs and engage in multidisciplinary activities that contribute to economic development of communities and the nation; conduct professional practice considering societal, ethical, and environmental issues in all platforms of practice like academia, research institutes, industry, etc and rise to leadership positions globally.

We are excited to have you for the period of time you will spend in this Department and in the University. We promise to pilot you with the utmost care and friendliness in the course of your acquisition of knowledge, wishing you a resounding success in the Department.
