Admission Requirement

The basic admission requirements into Computer Engineering programme are guided by the University policy on admission and in accordance with the National Universities Commission (NUC) and Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) guidelines. Admissions into the programme can be through Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct entry. The minimum admission requirement is passes at credit level in the Senior Secondary School final year examination or GCE ‘O’ Level in five subjects including Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Chemistry and any other science subject in WAEC, NECO and NABTEB Examinations. Candidates are also required to satisfy the requirement in Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). The UTME Subjects are English Language, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.

 

For Direct Entry, candidates must have passes in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry at GCE ‘A’ level or equivalent. Holders of National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) in the Computer Engineering Discipline at minimum of upper credit level are eligible for consideration for admission into 200 and 300 levels respectively. Direct entry candidates must also satisfy the minimum admission requirement is passes at credit level in the Senior Secondary School final year examination or GCE ‘O’ Level in five subjects including Mathematics, English Language, Physics, Chemistry, biology or any other science subject in WAEC, NECO and NABTEB Examinations.
